Introduction to basic knitting stitches - Knit stitch, Purl stitch, increase and decrease stitiches, cast on stitches, bind off stitches and control of tension. Class project will be a scarf that will be double sided using the stitches students have learned in class. Materials that the students will need are: 550 yards of 4ply worsted weight yarn in any color, size 7 knitting needles but size 8 knitting needles will work and stitch markers.
