The Worcester Youth Philharmonic Orchestra is a full orchestra (winds/brass/percussion/strings) is comprised of intermediate young musicians seeking ensemble experience in a welcoming but hardworking atmosphere.  Students learn to play in a large full orchestra, strengthen their ensemble skills and are introduced to the major composers and works.  Membership is open to 6th grade and up. Admission is through audition, average size is 50-60 players & Sinfonia strings is our upper level string orchestra that serves students who have been taking lessons for more than 2 years. It is designed to help develop ensemble technique such as learning to follow a conductor, tune with other instruments and build sight reading confidence.  For students participating in both Philharmonic & Sinfonia orchestras
