Come search for eagles with us! Drop in any place, anytime during the two hours. Volunteers will have scopes and binoculars (or bring your own) at McHenry and Algonquin dams, Carpenter Park in Carpentersville, and at the Williams Bay boat launch on Lake Geneva in Wisconsin. McHenry County Conservation District will also host a guided hike at Prairieview Education Center to look for eagles by the Fox River at that site. Representatives from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Friends of Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, McHenry County Audubon, and Lakeland Audubon Society are all helping with the quest.
This is a free special event and all ages are welcome. Children ages 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult family member.
If you have any concerns on Saturday morning about the weather, please call the Friends of Hackmatack phone line at (262) 448-3558 where there will be a message regarding the status of the event.
