About this event
Students will learn how to lay out spokes, upset a basket, weave, shape and put on a rim. This tote is the instructor's most popular basket. It is ideal to take to markets or to just pick up a few items. Use this tote to take to the park filled with books, water bottle, snacks, wallet and phone. It is also a nice tote to take on trips with kids...or to place next to a comfortable chair for crafting. The tote has a removable wooden base, which is 6"x10" and the basket is approximately 12" tall. Straps come in green, brown, black, and navy. Each participant will go home with a completed basket they created. Rosemary (Maré) LeMay has been weaving for over 40 years and has taught workshops for the past 30 years. She has a passion for weaving and especially teaching. She has a workshop in Wiscasset where she teaches and has open workshops for anyone that wants to come in, weave and just learn a new artform. Her baskets can be seen at Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, Widener Company in Wiscasset, Markings in Bath, and at Sheepscot Market, as well as online at: immodestcotton.com
