Personal fitness is a course that focuses on helping students develop healthy lifestyles and habits that will build their physical literacy and guide them to make good choices. The class provides useful and practical information about health and wellness, physical fitness, and nutrition. Through various projects and experiential learning opportunities both on and off campus, students will explore the world around them to let them uncover areas of health that are important to them and ways that they can make lifelong choices that will positively affect them. This course is offered in a hybrid format that requires students to be present on campus as well independence to complete projects on their own. Classes on campus will be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and students must attend all in-person sessions. Students are expected to complete various tasks on their own (at home or the location of their choosing). Some of the home activities will involve family and friends as students complete meaningful projects.
