Empower your songwriting by learning to record your own music at home. This workshop will guide singer-songwriters through essential home recording techniques.
In this workshop, YMP Instructor Kyle DelFatti will impart practical knowledge on the processes of tracking, mixing, and mastering, catering to songwriters who seek greater command over their own production. Drawing from his extensive background in the Portland music community and the broader commercial industry, he will demonstrate techniques for capturing studio-quality sound from a personal workspace.
Topics will include microphone selection, necessary gear, and practical methods for capturing your acoustic instruments and vocals with clarity and emotion.
No previous knowledge or experience with recording is necessary to attend. ...and no need to bring anything to the workshop. We've got you covered!
About the instructor: Kyle DelFatti is a Portland-based music producer, multi-instrumentalist, and recording engineer. He is the lead engineer and co-owner of Wildwood Sound, a professional recording studio located in Portland. Kyle is also the producer behind the synth-pop project One11Twenty, which has accrued over 13 million global streams. A graduate of the USC Thornton School of Music, he is an active participant in the Portland music scene, contributing both as an artist and as a supporter of fellow musicians. With experience spanning both high-end studio engineering and the independent roots of indie-pop, he specializes in assisting artists in translating their creative visions into professional-grade recordings.
