We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Sunday, March 15, 2020.
Looking for a challenging hike? Join us for a moderately semi-steep paced, one-mile guided hike in the naturally beautiful side of Los Angeles. Learn about the wonders of your National Parks as we hike through the scenic Santa Monica Mountains. Experience an introduction to the rolling hills of Calabasas, the rocky, jagged mountains of Malibu Creek State Park, and resources both cultural and historical. Wear sturdy, close-toed shoes and bring water and a sack lunch. This hike is for intermediate to experienced hikers or those looking to learn about public lands. We will arrive at the National Park Service Visitor Center in Calabasas at approximately 9:00am and will hike one mile (round trip). We will return to the Visitor Center around 10am. Participants will be given an hour and a half to enjoy lunch, explore the Visitor Center exhibits, and talk to park rangers. We will depart at 12 noon for a 1:30pm arrival back to Plummer Park. Register early, space is limited. No dogs allowed. Not wheelchair accessible.
*In case of rain, the event will be rescheduled to March 22.
Please park in south parking lot and obtain a parking permit from staff.
