Textile Dye & Printing Techniquesw/Jean-Marie BaldwinA six (6) session courseMondays, September 18 - October 309:30 am - 12:30 pmNo class on 9/25We will begin these classes with the ancient Japanese fold resist dye technique of Shibori working on silk scarves, moving on to a variety of print techniques that may be used on either textiles or any variety of surfaces. The provided materials will be dyes, textile paints, a large variety of print blocks, stencils, all necessary tools and equipment, various textiles including silk, cotton, rayon, bamboo and hemp. My many years of having an Art to Wear business, my teaching and vast experimentation with dyes and paints on various surfaces brings a unique perspective and experience to this subject.
Students will pay to the instructor a $60 materials fee.
