Make two handcrafted fused glass ornaments (or three, time permitting!), perfect for decorating or gift giving! After class, both ornaments will be kiln-fired by the instructor and returned to Waterford Craft School within a few days for pickup. You'll create a 3.5" fused glass wreath ornament using colorful glass shards, glass dots, and frit to build texture and dimension, as well as a kiln-cast glass ornament that gives you the opportunity to explore a second fused glass technique. All materials are provided. *Please note: Finished ornaments will not be available to take home the day of class. I live in Northern Virginia with my husband of 50 years and our wonderful golden retriever. We are blessed to have our son, daughter in law and two perfect granddaughters close by. I began doing stained glass thirty plus years ago when my father could no longer pursue his glass hobby due to advancing Alzheimer’s. I began the transition from traditional stained glass to fused glass about fifteen years ago. When I retired in 2013, I put all of my energies and focus into learning and experimenting with glass fusing techniques and products. Fused glass embodies everything I love about glass; color, sparkle, design and texture. I teach several fused glass workshops a year using techniques I have developed to allow non glass folks to make their own fused glass product in a short two hour fun event without needing tools or glass cutting skills.
