The CEC Workshops are for all Lifesaving Society BC and Yukon-recognized First Aid Instructors. To meet 2028 recertification prerequisites, instructors must complete one CEC in 2026 and one in 2027, in addition to teaching two full Standard First Aid courses as required by WorkSafeBC. Apprentices must also attend CECs to complete their certification and apprenticeship requirements. Steps to participate: Register for a live online CEC workshop Ensure your device has a working webcam and microphone—active participation is required Engage in interactive discussions, peer-teaching exercises, and breakout activities Apply the strategies learned in your teaching practice Please note: Active participation is required. The Zoom link and workshop materials will be sent the week before the session. Workshop features: Each live, interactive session—led by Branch staff and National Trainers—requires all participants to have a working mic and camera, and includes: Teaching strategies for diverse learners First aid updates and insights Peer-teaching breakout rooms Networking opportunities These workshops provide consistent professional growth, easy access to essential updates, and a collaborative learning environment, leaving participants with practical strategies, stronger connections, and confidence in their teaching.
