This course emphasizes basic financial literacy through engaging games, simulations, and activities- exploring savings goals, banking, investing, and more. In addition to fostering financial habits, students will calculate potential savings, projected earnings, and both simple and compound interest. This two-week course for advanced rising fourth and fifth graders utilizes a bisynchronous design model, incorporating both independent student work and LIVE virtual classroom sessions, all accessible through Canvas, an online learning management system. Come join us this summer! Participants will have synchronous online meetings Monday through Thursday from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. with the course instructor and the cohort to discuss their learning in person, and online discussions will be monitored.
