Paint your way through Western Art learning drawing, painting skills, composition, and color theory. A unique and interesting studio experience you will not find anywhere else! Limited registration. Materials: Basic drawing tools – charcoal, Conte crayon to include black, sanguine and white. A water based opaque medium – gouache or acrylic is preferred. Oil paints are permissible but impractical. The complete palette should include: Titanium or Zinc/Titanium white Lamp or Ivory black: Payne’s Grey is fine. Umber, raw and/or burnt Sienna, raw and/or burnt Red Ochre or Venetian Red Yellow Ochre and or Yellow Oxide Cadmium Yellow Lt., Lemon or Chrome Yellow, Naples Yellow Cadmium Red Lt., Madder and/or Alizarin Crimson, Indigo Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Thalo Blue (optional Prussian Blue, Cerulean Blue) Viridian, Thalo Green, Chrome Green Oxide Brushes – an assortment of round, filbert and flats, sizes 2 – 6 should be fine. If you like to work large and have the tools you certainly may use any and all that you have. Supports – paper or canvas, student’s choice. A pad of Canvas Paper or Mixed Media paper would work.
