Acrylic Painting Studio Class Instructor David Hollander Beginner to Intermediate The class combines theory and practice into one session by including examples from art history for discussion and providing useful tips for creating your own successful art. Demo and critique will also be included. Each class will be 80% studio work and 20% discussion. Materials: Basic drawing tools – charcoal, Conte crayon to include black, sanguine and white. The complete acrylic palette should include: Titanium or Zinc/Titanium white Lamp or Ivory black: Payne’s Grey is fine. Umber, raw and/or burnt Sienna, raw and/or burnt Red Ochre or Venetian Red Yellow Ochre and or Yellow Oxide Cadmium Yellow Lt., Lemon or Chrome Yellow, Naples Yellow Cadmium Red Lt., Madder and/or Alizarin Crimson, Indigo Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Thalo Blue (optional Prussian Blue, Cerulean Blue) Viridian, Thalo Green, Chrome Green Oxide Brushes – an assortment of round, filbert and flats, sizes 2 – 6 should be fine. If you like to work large and have the tools you certainly may use any and all that you have. Supports – paper or canvas, student’s choice.
