Earth Day Volunteer Workday

Celebrate Earth Day by joining a Volunteer Workday to remove invasive plants at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 9:00am to noon.

This event is a part of an effort to help rescue a section of our woodlands through hand-on removal of the aggressively invasive plants. At this Volunteer Workday, participants will learn how to identify and control English Ivy and a few other common invasive plants that are negatively impacting our natural communities in Northern Virginia.

Help to restore an important area of woodlands in our Potomac Valley Collection, the area of Meadowlark that has a strong focus on native plants. Tools, supplies, and instructions will be provided.

Requirements:

- Online registration

- Volunteer Information and Release Form (Provided at check in)

- Participants must wear enclosed shoes (no Crocs).

- Age 16 or older

- Please bring a reusable water bottle.

- Please bring gloves if you have them.

Meadowlark Botanical Gardens is located off Beulah Road, at 9750 Meadowlark Gardens Court, in Vienna, VA.
