Description
Introduction to Audio Mixing is a course designed for beginner and intermediate learners who want to build strong, practical skills in audio mixing. This 10-week, hands-on program guides students through real-world mixing scenarios using songs recorded from local musicians, while developing a solid understanding of both technical and creative mixing techniques.
You’ll learn how to shape your sound using essential tools such as EQ, compression, reverb, delay, buses, automation, and more. We are going to practice technical ear training, Whether you're brand new to mixing or already familiar with the basics, this course will help you improve your critical listening, strengthen your workflow, and gain the confidence to create professional-sounding mixs.
This course is ideal for aspiring audio engineers, musicians, singer-songwriters, and content creators who want to bring clarity, depth, and polish to their recordings. No prerequisites are required. By the end of the course, beginners can expect to reach an intermediate level, while intermediate students should progress toward an advanced skill level.
Weekly Outline: * Week 1: Course introduction – Critical listening, listening environments, and audio in the digital domain * Week 2: DAW overview Solo mute Editing basics, playback loops, masking concepts * Week 3: Setting up and organizing a mix session + your first mix – Panning, volume, filters, and phase * Week 4: EQ – Mixing Artist 1 * Week 5: FX sends, buses, and automation * Week 6: Dynamics – Mixing Artist 1 * Week 7: Mixing 1 final session. * Week 8: planderphonic session 1 * Week 9: planderphonic session 2 * Week 10: Mastering and final listening
