Santa Cruz Island Eco Extreme Half Marathon 2024

Santa Cruz Island • Channel Islands National Park . VenturaCA  93009 Organized by Ventura County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Upper Ojai Team

About this event

This run will open for registration on June 18, 2024.

This November 2nd, 2024 13.1 extreme Eco-Trail run on Santa Cruz Island is a Wilderness run from sea level @ Santa Cruz Island's Prisoners Cove, up through the island highlands, peaks, valleys, and mountains, then Shamrock style looping back to Prisoner's Cove.

This run course offers the best of the National Park.

The number of entries is regulated by the National Park Service Those who have run before describe the run as the most unique wilderness run in the Pacific.

Our private Island Packers boat ride out and back is a blast, we see so many whales and dolphins.

This run is not suitable for trail walkers or first-time runners. It is a challenging extreme run in a wilderness setting. There are areas of steep single track that have to be walked even by the best.

We have a great complimentary after-party lunch on the island.

Past runners overwhelming tell us this is the most remote and scenic run available on the West Coast of the USA.

This is a full non-profit event and your entry helps our Sheriff's Volunteer Search and Rescue Unit while promoting the outdoors, community health, and fitness.

Thus, there are no refunds or flipping your entry to others (except by paying a $25 transfer fee).

The course can change from the published description when on race day at the island. If we get rained out or any other action out of our control such as;  Natural Disaster, Marine weather or Marine Equipment issues, COVID, permit change, NPS cancels our changes restrictions on our Federal permit, laws change, Island Packers, Nature Conservancy requests, weather or health issue or such, your money will still be used for 100% non-profit, take the donation tax write off, and we thank you.

We will make every attempt to refund up to 90% of your entry if we have to cancel the race for any reason listed above. There is no planned backup date.
