SculptureAges 9-12, 13+ Students create 3D artworks by combining and transforming a range of materials, discovering the special qualities of each, and exploring significant themes in contemporary sculpture. Working in the Arts Umbrella wood shop, students are introduced to safe tool use, and experiment with processes including assemblage, forming, carving, and casting. Fundamental concepts such as materiality, space, movement, and texture are incorporated into the creative process.
