Darkroom PhotographyAges 9-12, 13+

Students use a 35mm camera and a fully-appointed darkroom to shoot and develop their own black and white photographic prints. While shooting, students will learn the principles of photography including exposure, aperture, ISO, shutter speed, focus, lighting, and composition. They will also be introduced to the safety and fundamentals of the darkroom to develop, chemically process, and enlarge their negative to to create their own photographic prints. Analog image-editing techniques such as burning, dodging and blending will also be explored alongside experimental methods such as cyanotypes, photograms, double-exposure, and pinhole photography.
