Description

Digital Painting & DesignStudents learn how to create expressive digital artworks in our MacLab using a digital tablet, stylus pen and easy-to-use, industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Kid Pix, and Krita. Essential computer literacy skills will also be taught while they explore fundamental drawing & padarkinting concepts in the digital sphere such as digital brushes, colours, and blending layers. Students will also learn to apply design to their digital art to create movie posters, book covers, story illustrations, and more.
ClaymationStudents learn to sculpt characters and props with plasticine, developing the model making and animation skills that are unique to this particular form of stop motion animation. Working at our camera stations to compose and photograph frame after frame, students develop an intuition for the principles of animation, from timing and spacing to squash and stretch. Students work with DSLR cameras and the industry-standard software, DragonFrame.
