Teacher: Mulholland Prep Coaches: Christian Schneider, Dov Engelberg, and Sarah Burkett Develop the skills to think critically, speak confidently, and lead with purpose! In this year-long debate program, students strengthen their research, public speaking, teamwork, and persuasive argument skills while exploring current issues from multiple perspectives. Through engaging classroom debates and coach-guided instruction, students build confidence and prepare for competition. Selected students may represent Laurence at Golden West Debate League tournaments based on their participation, preparation, and commitment. Priority enrollment and tournament participation are given to 6th grade students, with remaining spots available to 5th graders on a first-come, first-served basis. Students interested in developing debate skills without competing in tournaments are also welcome.
