About this event
The Penn State Diving Day Camps are open to students in grades 7 and up next fall. It is preferred, but not required, that divers have a year of competitive diving experience as the camps are not "learn-to-dive" camps. The Penn State Diving Day Camp participants engage in an intensive routine consisting of two dryland workouts and two water workouts, ranging in time from an hour and a half to three hours per station. The sessions include springboard and dryland workouts. Emphasis is on proper mechanics, stretching, physical conditioning and developing a healthy perspective on the competitive nature of the sport. Platform diving will be offered ONLY for one session. For those campers not interested in the platform, springboards will be offered. Features of Diving Day Camp: Two, one and a half hour to three-hour block sessions include: o Springboard and dryland technique o Water belts over one meter and three meters o Tower workout for beginner to advanced o Spotting belt work on dry board and trampoline
