This hands-on DIY Pet First Aid Kit & Emergency Preparedness class is designed for pet owners who want practical knowledge and confidence in handling common pet emergencies at home or on the go. This includes a brief discussion on disaster preparedness for pets, including planning for winter storms, power outages, flooding, and evacuations, with practical tips to keep animals safe during emergencies. Taught by a certified Pet CPR & First Aid instructor, this class covers the basics of pet emergency awareness, injury prevention, and first-response care. Participants will learn what supplies are essential in a pet first aid kit, how and when to use them, and what steps to take while seeking veterinary care. During the class, participants will: Learn the purpose and proper use of common pet first aid supplies Assemble a DIY pet first aid kit to take home Understand basic first aid responses for cuts, minor injuries, and sudden illness Learn when immediate veterinary care is necessary Gain tips for keeping pets calm and safe during stressful situations This class is educational, interactive, and suitable for all pet owners. No prior medical or animal care experience is required. Note: This class focuses on first aid preparedness and kit assembly and does not include full Pet First-Aid certification.
