The Golden Gate Speech Association (GGSA) organizes speech and debate competitions for students in a number of Northern California counties, including Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, and San Francisco. High school students can qualify for the California High School Speech Association (CHSSA) State Tournament through the GGSA District tournaments, competing at the Varsity division. Middle school students can now participate through the Novice division.
