Description

Learn to write original comedy sketches in the tradition of Saturday Night Live and SCTV. This hands-on four-week intensive covers premise generation, scene structure, escalation, rewriting, and punch-up. Students will develop short sketches from ideas to final drafts, build strong characters, heighten absurdity, and land solid endings. The course culminates in a staged reading at TC Media's studio, where student sketches are performed and recorded. Students will leave with at least one polished original sketch script and the experience of hearing their work read aloud and seeing it go from page to stage.

Instructor Brian Kahn is a veteran comedy writer with over 30 years of professional experience in sitcom and sketching, with credits at NBC, Paramount, Nickelodeon, and FOX Entertainment.
