About this event
Description
History talks continue this summer at the Schmidt House! Join us each month for a free hour-long talk on social or natural history, each presented by a recognized expert. Talks begin at noon on the first Thursday of the month.June 4 Class Title: The Secret War for American Independence: A Hidden Story of Spies and Intelligence Dick Moody of Sons of the American Revolution presents an intriguing program on espionage during the American Revolution. American spies and intelligence networks were essential to the success of the Patriot cause during the Revolutionary War. Because the Continental Army was often smaller, poorly supplied, and outnumbered, intelligence gathered through espionage allowed George Washington and his generals to anticipate British movements and exploit enemy weaknesses. This talk concludes our month-long celebration of America250.
