Teams will be drafted by coaches. the goal is to begin introducing athletes to peers from other Circle grade schools, while still keeping them with some from their own school. Coaches may protect their own child and their assistant coach’s child. Circle Rec will still try to keep players: (1) on a team that is no more than one town over & (2) with at least one peer from their grade school. Coach and teammate requests can be made but are not guaranteed. Introduction to playing with teammates from across the district: Allow players the opportunity to start building relationships with students from other circle grade schools that they will be peers with in middle and high school. Focus on skill development in a collaborative setting: Continue developing core basketball skills like dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive positioning while encouraging communication and working effectively with teammates.
