Western Frontier Camp Come spend the week as if you were transported to a western frontier town. We will take a field trip to the Roaring Camp Railroad to do some gold panning and take a ride thru the Redwood Forest on a narrow-gauge steam train. While at camp you will become immersed in the culture of the old west. Your group will create your own rules, government, currency and entertainment for your town. Each camper will take on a role in the town. Maybe you will be the sheriff, a shop keeper, the governor or a blacksmith. At the end of the week your group will run and participate in a western competition with other camp groups. This Field Trip is included: Redwood Forest Steam Train Sign up for Western Frontier Camp and take a ride at Roaring Camp Railroad. Travel over trestles, through towering redwood groves and up a winding narrow-gauge grade to the summit of Bear Mountain as conductors narrate the history of Roaring Camp, the railroad and the forest. In addition to the train trip, campers will learn gold panning techniques. Price: $650 Grades: 1-3 Week 2: June 17 -21 (8:30 AM to 3:30 PM)
