About this event
Learn to mend! Elena Brotz will teach you darning/patching techniques for elegant yet functional mends of your clothes and other fabric items. We're running two sessions of this class: Wednesday, March 4th, 5-7pm (rescheduled from 2/25 due to weather) and Feb 26th, 12-2pm. When you register, please select which one you'll be joining us at. What You'll Learn: In this workshop we will find the joy of repair together and gather around the table to learn the basics of mending while fixing an old favorite item of clothing. Come join us and stitch your clothes back to stability! Whether you prefer a seamless mend or sashiko (a Japanese technique where you treat the mend as a visible work of textile art) join us to revive your favorite clothes! This class is open to ages 10 and up (with parent/caregiver present). All necessary mending materials included. Please bring along clothing/items you'd like to fix and any other fabric or materials you want to use or share. If you have questions, are having trouble with this registration platform, or would like to pay by cash or check, please email gupham@su76.org or call 207-656-6262.
