About this event
Do you love learning about marine science and exploring ocean life? Join us for a fun-filled week in Canterbury’s equipped marine studies facility, the Cousteau Center for Marine Studies! In this immersive camp, young marine enthusiasts will gain hands-on experience exploring Tampa Bay’s beautiful ecosystems. Explore the underwater world of fish and their ecosystems in this action-packed week of discovery and adventure! Mornings will feature field excursions to exciting locations like Fort De Soto Beach and Weedon Island, where campers will learn about fish habitats through hands-on exploration, snorkeling, and collection activities. Afternoons at the Cousteau Center for Marine Studies will include engaging science labs such as touch tank activities, plankton investigations, and aquarium design, where campers will learn how to care for marine life responsibly. If the weather permits, participants will paddleboard through estuary waters to observe fish in their natural environments. This camp is ideal for elementary and middle school students passionate about marine life, offering a balance of outdoor adventures, scientific exploration, and conservation education. Campers must be able to swim unassisted and without floatation devices.
