(4 Lessons: July 13, 20, 27, and August 10. There is no program on August 3)
The City of Spruce Grove has partnered with Project Rad Skateboarding to host Beginner Skateboard Lessons at our new Wheeled Sports Park. These lessons are for first-time riders (those with little to no experience on a skateboard) and will introduce participants to the basics of skateboarding in a fun, supportive, and safe environment. Participants will learn foundational skills like riding, turning, riding ramps and banks, dropping in, and an introduction to ollies. Certified Project Rad Skateboarding Coaches provide safe, inclusive, and beginner-friendly programming that focuses on building confidence, skill development, and a sense of belonging for all experience levels. Helmets and closed toe shoes are required. Skateboards are available to borrow during the program.
Upon arrival to the program, you'll find our sign-in under a blue tent.
This program will reschedule in the case of inclement weather. If this occurs, the City of Spruce Grove will reach out for re-scheduling options.
Be Prepared:
- Waterbottles - Required for all participants
- Helmets - Required for all participants
- Closed-toe shoes - Required for all participants
- Knee and elbow pads - heavily recommended
- Prepare for the weather (ex. sunscreen, jackets, hats)
- Please label personal items. Unclaimed lost and found items will be donated at the end of summer.
Withdrawal PolicyThe City of Spruce Grove reserves the right to withdraw any participant or guardian who fails to comply the rules and regulations, or who engages in any activity deemed contrary to the fulfillment to City of Spruce Grove program objectives. In such an event, the City of Spruce Grove will be owed the registration fee for the completed session.
