18+. This 55-minute class focuses on the foundations of Capoeira. Capoeira is a Brazilian Marital Art that incorporates elements of dance and acrobatics in a game of ritual combat. This course is designed for total beginners and focuses on the core movements of capoeira: footwork, kicks, escapes, inversions, balance, flexibility and flow. Classes are set to music and are designed to gradually build strength and confidence for improvised free-form play.
Must wear full-length pants to all capoeira classes. White or Navy-blue sweatpants, yoga pants or warm-up style pants are preferred, along with a white or navy-blue t-shirt. Adults are encouraged to wear flat-soled, court-style shoes. No high tops or running shoes.Class located at the Bob Keefer Center, 250 S. 32nd St.
