Eugene. Explore the Willamette Confluence Preserve and Turtle Flats on a small bus tour with McKenzie River Trust and Friends of Buford Park. This 1,400-acre preserve showcases rare habitats in the Willamette Valley, including river corridors, floodplain forests, wetlands, upland oak woodlands, and native prairies. Learn about the conservation efforts, human history, and natural features of the preserve from volunteer docents. This tour is ideal for those who cannot walk the typical four miles of walking tours. Bring a bagged lunch and water, dress for the weather, and consider bringing a portable chair. An ADA-accessible toilet will be available halfway through the tour. Registration is required.
