Sisters. Moderate hike of 2.5 miles along the Lava River Trail to the summit of the McKenzie Highway and Dee Wright Observatory, which offers panoramic views atop vast black lava flows. There, you will learn about the unusual and historic features of the mountaintop observatory. At Proxy Falls, view two waterfalls in the wilderness, including one that flows into a clear pool. Bring a sack lunch.
