AKC Competition Obedience is a precision sport that showcases teamwork, communication, and reliability between dog and handler. Teams perform a series of structured exercises designed to demonstrate control, accuracy, and confidence in a formal ring environment. Beginner Novice is an entry-level obedience class designed to introduce teams to the structure and expectations of AKC obedience competition while building confidence in the ring. Novice obedience builds on foundational skills and prepares teams for off-leash competition exercises required in the AKC Novice class.
