This course is an advanced, hands-on course designed for responders who may operate at complex heavy vehicle incidents involving commercial trucks, buses, and other large or specialty vehicles. The program focuses on advanced size-up, hazard recognition, stabilization, access and disentanglement techniques, patient packaging, and coordination within the incident command system while operating around unique challenges such as high-energy components, air brake systems, alternative fuels, and unstable loads. Training emphasizes rescuer safety, scene control, and effective use of heavy rescue tools and equipment in real-world scenarios. This course is conducted in accordance with applicable National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, ensuring participants meet nationally recognized professional qualifications for heavy vehicle rescue operations. This course is IFSAC eligible.
