About this event
Ever wondered how a key card unlocks a door or how a garage knows your family's car is pulling in? Now it's your turn to build smart devices and find out! Join us for this hands-on, low-screen engineering course. Students become inventors as they build and program exciting smart devices that move, react, and solve real-world problems. Working both independently and with classmates, they’ll design creative solutions and discover how engineering and computer science come together to power the technology they see every day. Projects include an automatic garage gate that detects approaching cars, motion-activated gadgets, and other inventions using an Arduino Microcontroller (think a small computer on a single chip), motors, sensors, and coding. As students bring their ideas to life, they’ll develop the confidence to tackle open-ended challenges and think like engineers. Through teamwork and problem-solving, they’ll discover that they can create technology—not just use it—while making new friends who love building amazing things, too.
