Description

Students are introduced to the Spanish language through stories, songs, dialogues, role-playing, guided conversation, and basic reading activities. The course focuses on essential language foundations, including greetings, numbers, everyday expressions, and present-tense structures, providing students with the vocabulary needed to understand and communicate simple sentences about people, places, and daily situations.
Classes emphasize a communicative, interactive approach, encouraging students to build confidence speaking Spanish from the very beginning in a supportive and engaging environment.
This class is designed for students with no previous experience in a language classroom or with very limited basic vocabulary.

REFUNDS/TRANSFERS - A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Refunds will be prorated. Refund/transfer requests must be emailed to the Community Classes & Camps office at community.classes@santamonica.gov. Refunds will be issued only if requested within one day after the first class meeting. Material fees are not discountable and are nonrefundable.
REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.
CANCELLED CLASSES: Makeups will not be offered for classes missed by the student. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
