Description

This is a vibrant class for adults eager to strengthen their speaking skills while deepening their connection to Hispanic cultures. Each session centers around engaging, real-world themes—from food and traditions to travel, current events, and daily life across Spanish-speaking communities. Through guided conversations, storytelling, music, film clips, and authentic materials, students build vocabulary and fluency in meaningful, culturally rich contexts. Grammar is introduced organically to support expression, with emphasis on compound tenses, the subjunctive mood, idiomatic phrases, and cultural nuance. This class celebrates language as a living experience—where every conversation opens a window into the richness of the Spanish-speaking world and empowers learners to speak with confidence, curiosity, and joy.

$30 cash material fee is due to the instructor on the first day of class.

REFUNDS/TRANSFERS - A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Refunds will be prorated. Refund/transfer requests must be emailed to the Community Classes & Camps office at community.classes@santamonica.gov. Refunds will be issued only if requested within one day after the first class meeting. Material fees are not discountable and are nonrefundable.

REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.

CANCELLED CLASSES: Makeups will not be offered for classes missed by the student. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
