TRANSITION AREA
The transition area is located in the back of our building, outside the Aquatics Department at ClubSport. The transition area is where participants will place their bikes, helmet, shoes, clothes, etc. in one area. Please plan to come before your childs heat start time so you can set up their gear prior to the start of the race. Parents can help participants if needed. Your athlete will return to their transition area after their swim portion of the race to prepare for the rest of the race.
SWIM
Your athlete should arrive to the race ready to swim first. Atheletes will be swimming in ClubSport's indoor pools. Lifeguards will be on duty throughout the race. Wetsuits are NOT allowed but kickboards will be available for use if needed. Each wave will have two swimmers per lane. There will be NO ACCESS TO SHOWERS and limited towels available.
We will break down the swim event into different waves per age group. Each wave will have a specific start time.
Ages 7-13 will complete all laps in our larger lap pool, ages 4-6 will complete all laps in our smaller lesson pool. For ages 4-6: Only one swimming parent will be allowed in the pool with the participant. There will be volunteers to assist all swimmers.
After their laps, athletes will then exit the pool and WALK to the transition area to find their bike.
BIKE
The bike course will start in the back of The Plex building (connected to ClubSport). Athletes will exit the transition area by following the portion of the course labeled BIKE in blue on the asphault. When the athletes are done with their appropriate age loops, they will make their way back to the transition area to park their bike.
Athletes must wear their helmets while walking their bikes through the transition area. Training wheels are allowed. Race numbers should be placed on the athlete's bike and on front of their clothing with provided safety pins. Please do not wear the numbers in the pool. All bike distances are approximate.
Please let your child(ren) know to slow down when they approach the turn-around point so the monitors can mark their wristband.
RUN
The run will also start in the back of The Plex. Please let your child know to slow down when they approach the turn-around point so the monitors can mark their wristband. Athletes will exit the transition area by following the portion of the course labeled RUN in red on the asphault
