This is an introductory, college-level, intensive advanced placement summer course that focuses on five core ideas: creative development; data, algorithms, and programming; computing systems and networks; and the impact of computing. Students will learn how the internet works, explore the impacts of computing on our world, and gain an understanding of various ethical and security concerns that have resulted from computing innovations. Students learn to design solutions to problems using algorithms and programming. Completing this course will prepare students for the full-year AP Computer Science A course and for the AP Computer Science Principles exam at the end of the following academic year.
