Balboa Park Summer Adult Workshop Sunday, August 11, 2024.
Welcome to our Summer Adult Workshop designed for adult dancers aged 18 and up. This workshop intensive is specifically geared for advanced beginner through advanced level dancers and is not recommended for new beginners as classes are fast paced.
Highlights of the Adult Workshop include one full day of dance training with the City of San Diego's experienced dance staff and guest choreographers. Dance disciplines may include, but are not limited to Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern Musical Theater, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Hawaiian, and more. We will be offering two levels for most classes. All specialty classes are not guaranteed for every level and are subject to change. All classes are held in the Casa Del Prado rehearsal spaces located in beautiful Balboa Park
Please note there will be no onsite registration on the day of the workshop.
Check-in is at 8:30 am and a group warm-up begins promptly at 8:45 am with classes to start at 9:00 am. A 45 minute lunch break will be allocated, and there are nearby restaurants, or bring your lunch.
Proper dance attire, tap shoes and jazz or ballet shoes must be worn to participate. Please write your name on all personal articles. No unpaid observers will allowed in any of the dance rooms.

Welcome to the City of San Diego's Balboa Park Summer Adult Workshop August 11, 2024.
Please note there will be no onsite registration on the day of the workshop.
Check-in: Begins at 8:30 am in front of Casa room 201. At check-in, you will receive the day's schedule and participant wrist band, required for entry to all classes. There will be a group warm-up at 8:45 am and all classes will start at 9:00 am. All classes will be held in the rehearsal spaces at the Casa Del Prado in Balboa Park. (Please visit our website: www.civicdancearts.org for written directions.)
Classes: All classes will start promptly at 9:00 am and will finish by 4:00 pm. Staff will be available to direct you for the class level that is best suited for you. You may join a class at any time, however, please be courteous to your fellow dancer upon entry.
Dance Rooms: No food or drink (except water) and absolutely NO GUM will be allowed in the rooms. We also ask that you do not bring unnecessary valuables with you. Staff are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Lunch: You will be allotted 45 minutes for a lunch break. Although there are available restaurants in the area, with suggest you bring something with you.
Dance Attire: We ask that all dancers wear comfortable dance attire and bring all of your dance shoes, tap, jazz and ballet shoes. Please check your taps for loose screws in order to protect the dance floors. No street shoes are permitted on the dance floors.
Personal Items: We suggest dancers do not bring personal or expensive items to camp. All items must be labeled with the dancers' name.
Observing: Only paid participants will be allowed in the dance rooms, and you may observe any class. Please be courteous and keep your conversations to a minimum.
