JAZZ Nation Summer Institute Dates: June 22–27, 2026 Location: Trinity University, San Antonio, TX Get ready for an unforgettable week of music, creativity, and connection at the JAZZ Nation Summer Institute — a weeklong immersive experience for middle and high school musicians who love jazz and are ready to take their playing to the next level. Hosted on the scenic campus of Trinity University, the Institute offers a dynamic and inspiring environment where students grow as performers, improvisers, and collaborators under the guidance of world-class educators and professional jazz artists. Who Can Attend Open to students playing: Trumpet Saxophone Trombone Rhythm Section (Piano, Guitar, Bass, Drums/Percussion) Participants should have at least one year of experience on their instrument. What to Expect Whether you’re new to jazz or already gigging with your school band, the JAZZ Nation Summer Institute will challenge and inspire you through: Daily rehearsals in small combos, big band, and concert band settings Improvisation and theory classes designed to strengthen musicianship Masterclasses with top-tier professional musicians and educators Collaborative jam sessions and opportunities to perform A final concert performance open to family, friends, and the community Final Performance Date: Saturday, June 27, 2026 Location: Margarite B.
