Motivation Beyond a Finisher's Medal
In addition to empowering women through its events, the Aflac Iron Girl Series also helps raise money for the Aflac Cancer Center at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is a not-for-profit organization committed to enhancing the lives of children battling cancer through excellence in patient care, research and education.

Children's offers more than 30 pediatric specialties, and has made an impact in the lives of countless children throughout the world. Iron Girl participants who raise $500 or more for the Aflac Cancer Center will receive various Iron Girl accessories, Aflac accessories and goodies and a special race bib. They will also receive team recognition at events. But all the accessories and recognition are nothing compared to the knowledge that, through your dedication to a healthy lifestyle, you have taken steps to make a difference in a child's life.

Iron Girls Unite!
Although the series is called Iron "Girl," it encompasses women of all ages. An Iron Girl is a woman who balances fun and femininity with strength and determination to achieve something incredible. Since the races began in 2004, participants ranging in age from 5 to 89 have crossed the finish line of Iron Girl events. But reaching that finish line is just the beginning. On the contrary, that's where the journey for many actually begins.
