Skechers AERO Razor

Skechers AERO Razor

The Skechers AERO Razor is a sleek and lightweight running shoe designed for speed and agility. Featuring Skechers’ Hyper Burst cushioning, this shoe delivers a responsive and energetic ride, perfect for tempo runs and race day. The breathable mesh upper ensures a secure and comfortable fit, while the Goodyear rubber outsole provides reliable traction on various surfaces. Whether you're chasing a personal best or enjoying a quick jog, the AERO Razor is built to keep you moving effortlessly.

These are one of the most comfortable shoes right out of the box with a good amount of cushion that is still responsive to the running surface.
Aaron P. from Colorado

First Impressions:

The Skechers Aero Razor was a good looking shoe right out of the box and had an excellent fit that was quite comfortable. It was comfortable on the first run out of the box and with the breathable upper my foot didn't get hot or uncomfortable.

Lightweight shoe, airy upper. Comfortable support in the arch. Thinner sole in the toe. Slightly positive energy return, but very natural feeling.

Things We Liked:

The Skechers Aero Razor is a good looking shoe that is quite comfortable and provided a good amount of cushion that was very responsive.

The shoe is very comfortable, but I like the idea that it can be easily washed and will start incorporate regular shoe washing into my shoe maintenance!

Areas for Improvement:

The Skechers Aero Razor could benefit from a different type of shoe lace and possibly a little less of a rocker sole.

The marketing of Sketchers is expansive, but I was concerned with all the plastics used for packaging of the shoe with plastic tags on both shoes out of the box. I feel like they can do better with how they point out the features of the shoe without using a bunch of single-use plastic,

Final Thoughts

The Skechers Aero Razor is a performance-oriented running shoe that is more oriented for speed and efficiency rather than all-around comfort. It has a lightweight design and a responsive foam midsole, that delivers a bouncy and propulsive ride. The forefoot plate and aggressive rocker helps push runners forward with minimal effort, making it feel smooth and quick when picking up the pace. Breathability is another strong point thanks to the engineered mesh upper, and the overall lockdown is secure—the shoe fits narrow, giving it more of a race-day feel than a relaxed daily trainer.

The Aero Razor isn’t the most versatile option. The aggressive toe spring and forward-rolling geometry can feel awkward at slower paces, but does well with a faster paced training run. Comfort is more based for performance, meaning runners with wider feet or those who prefer plush cushioning may find it less forgiving. It offers impressive value compared to other speed shoes, combining durability (with a Goodyear rubber outsole) and high-end tech typically found in more expensive models. Overall, it’s a strong choice for runners looking for a fast, lightweight workout or race shoe.

Shannon T. from Minnesota

First Impressions:

The AERO Burst were soft clouds that cradled my feet on every stride.

Putting on these shoes was very similar to resting your head onto a pillow after a long day. It just feels so right.

Things We Liked:

This shoe made me feel like I was wearing slippers, they are so comfortable.

The cusioning was just perfect for all day wear.

Areas for Improvement:

These are about the closest thing I have some to a perfect pair of shoes for me. It is really difficult for me to find anything that I didn't like.

Final Thoughts

From the moment I slipped these shoes on, they felt less like traditional running shoes and more like cushioned slippers molded perfectly to my feet. The step‑in comfort was immediately noticeable, with plush cushioning surrounding the foot and creating a soft, supportive cradle. That initial feeling didn’t fade after a few minutes or even after the first walk—it carried through extended wear and full runs without any drop-off in comfort. The fit is truly exceptional, unlike any other shoe I’ve worn, offering a secure yet pressure-free feel that eliminates hot spots and discomfort. Throughout each run, the cushioning consistently held up, absorbing impact and providing steady support without feeling mushy or unstable. Even after longer sessions, there were no aches, no foot fatigue, and no pain—just a smooth, comfortable experience from start to finish.

Our Comprehensive Testing Process

To bring you this guide, our expert team, comprised of seasoned runners and footwear specialists, conducted extensive testing on a wide array of shoes. We are committed to providing reliable and unbiased recommendations based on real-world performance.

Each pair of shoes was subjected to a minimum of 20 miles of running across varied terrains, from city pavements to park trails. Our testers meticulously evaluated each shoe based on a set of key criteria to ensure a thorough and balanced assessment.

Key Evaluation Criteria:

  • Comfort: We assessed the initial feel and long-run comfort, noting any pressure points or areas of discomfort.
  • Fit: Testers evaluated how the shoe conformed to the foot, including the security of the heel, the width of the toebox, and the overall lockdown.
  • Weight: We considered the physical weight of the shoe and how it felt during a run—whether it felt light and nimble or heavy and cumbersome.
  • Breathability: The upper materials were tested for airflow to determine how well they managed heat and moisture during a run.
  • Flexibility: We analyzed the shoe's flexibility in the forefoot and its overall ability to move naturally with the runner's stride.
  • Overall Ride: This is a comprehensive assessment of the shoe's performance. It includes the quality of the cushioning, the smoothness of the heel-to-toe transition, and the general feeling of the shoe in motion.
