The Las Vegas Marathon, as you might expect, is far more than just a race—it's a multi-day event that will leave you with endless stories to tell and photos to show off. Festivities begin with a three-day health expo at the Las Vegas Convention Center before race weekend. The 5K is Saturday–followed by a post-race concert, because of course. The main event—the marathon and half marathon—begins at sundown on Sunday and remains the only event to shut down the Las Vegas strip, which is transformed into an 11-mile portion of the course.

For both the serious runner and those in search of a fun run, the Night Crawler is a nighttime trail run with no lights. That means head lamps and glow sticks on every runner, creating a sea of bobbing lights marking the path. Better yet, bonfires and microbrews are waiting at the finish.

This night run is a fantastic mix of bar crawl and race. It's a ¼ mile trot that finishes with a pub-crawl through the Dallas West End area. Each racer—or crawler—will receive a commemorative cup, a finisher's vodka drink and a wristband to enter the Vodka Festival. There will be music, dance contests, lip synch contest, games, sexiest Santa awards, fun and more, so make sure to dress in your BEST Santa costume.

October in the woods is an eerie experience for most, and the Night of the Dead Run doubles down with the scariest obstacle course run of your life. Waves begin at 9 p.m. on a 3.2-mile course filled with 26 obstacles and plenty of Black Swamp mud. From start to finish, competitors will be greeted by special effect lighting and serenaded with a less-than-comforting musical soundtrack.
