Diadora, the Italian-born sport brand, announces the launch of the Cellula 2, a neutral, cushioned and responsive shoe for daily training and long distance runs.
Designed to sit at the optimal balance between responsive and cushioned, the Cellula 2 taps into the brand’s industry-leading technologies to further enhance performance. The Cellula 2’s design has received significant updates from Diadora’s Italy-based product development team, while preserving the original model’s distinctive identity – a snappy cushioned and comfortable shoe for a variety of natural terrains and road running. Key updates include the addition of Anima N2 in the forefoot and added width to the forefoot of the base. The updated asymmetrical bottom unit maintains heel support and stability, with improved medial and forefoot performance. A rear-positioned rolling point boosts forward momentum, while a slightly wider forefoot base and extended medial rubber improve stability and reduce overpronation.
To reduce muscle fatigue and improve average speed by conserving energy, the design team prioritized high cushioning. The model’s signature SCF TPU insole, made from a high-rebound compound, ensures maximum energy return through direct foot contact. A new Anima N2 insert enhances rebound and propulsion during forefoot strike, increasing energy return by 10%, with the overall energy return being around 65%.
