The 5K is the most popular road-racing distance in the United States for good reason. Running 3.1 miles doesn't require months of grueling workouts, entry fees tend to be affordable enough for even the most budget conscious and the race doesn't eat up your entire day. And with so many 5K races popping up around the country, you can be sure there's one close to your home.

Whether you want to run your first or fastest 5K, try one of these races in 2015.
