Whether you dress as a superhero, princess or ghost, here's your chance to sport your costume while you run. Check out these eight running events that are sure to keep you entertained when Halloween rolls around.
Sleepy Hallow Halloween 10K

Race organizers say "there is no better place to celebrate Halloween" than at the 5th annual Sleepy Hollow Halloween 10K. Get a unique tour of the historic town as you race along the Hudson River and pass by the Headless Horseman Bridge, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery and the Old Dutch Church. Since you never know what or who might be lurking on the Sleepy Hollow course, you better run fast.
The Great Pumpkin Haul

Think you've got what it takes to run through the forest, across a creek and over hay bails while holding a pumpkin? At this race, runners pick their own "orange running buddy" from Chatfield's Pumpkin Patch and attempt to cross the finish line with their pumpkin intact. Award categories include fastest pumpkin hauler, best costume, and the tough pumpkin award for the runner who hauls the heaviest pumpkin. After the race, make your way through the annual corn maze, and enjoy hot apple cider, beer and music.
Hallow's Eve 5K Run and Walk
October 26, 2014 - Lowell, Massachusetts

Find a costume and grab the kids for this family-friendly event. Race proceeds benefit the A.M.S.I. Foundation, a nonprofit that awards higher-education scholarships to students in the Merrimack Valley area. After the race, watch the costume contest, take the kids trick-or-treating or hang out at the post-race party.
SF Mad Dash 2014
October 26, 2014 - San Francisco, Californiia

Run, walk and party through Golden Gate Park at the 3rd annual SF Mad Dash 5K Costume Run. Once you cross the finish line, hang around for the after-party at the Polo Field Stable and enjoy some "frightfully delicious food, devilish drinks and some spooky entertainment." All proceeds from the event benefit the Sunset Coop Nursery School.
6th Annual Florida Halloween Halfathon & 5K
October 26, 2014 - Tierra Verde, Florida

Sign up for the half marathon or 5K and run or walk along the beach at Fort De Soto Park. Costumes aren't mandatory, but they're encouraged to make the event more fun and festive. All participants will receive Halloween starfish gold medals, and prizes will be awarded to age group winners and top male and female finishers.
Halloween Hustle 5K
October 25, 2014 - Gaithersburg, Maryland

Get your hustle on in this family-friendly event with a 5K and 1K fun run. After the race, runners and spectators are invited to enjoy the awards ceremony and festivities, which include trick-or-treating at all vendor tables, a moon bounce, music, and more.
Trick or Trot 5K and 3K Fun Run

Run through Morley Field and the Florida Canyon on the edge of Balboa Park in this Halloween-themed race. Participants are encouraged to wear their costumes, and prizes will be awarded for best costumes in addition to best times. The event is a fundraiser for Roosevelt Middle School's PTSA and proceeds will be used to fund after-school clubs and enrichment programs for children.
Zombie Survival
