This one may seem obvious, but local pub runs happen all over your city, several nights a week. For a runner, this is a far better, more effective spin on serial scanning your favorite watering hole for a partner in crime. Besides, even if you aren't looking for a love connection, turning a run to the pub into a pub run is never a bad idea.

Treadmills aren't known for being sexy, but they can be used for sparking conversation next to someone while ticking off the miles. Keep in mind that, while you may hit it off with them, they are most definitely still trying to outrun you.

Should you encounter someone who catches your eye, you can be sure that they're sharing in your joy—and in your love for running. Who knows, you may end up with a new pair of shoes and a sole mate. Sign up for your town's next 5K and you're sure to meet running singles! Meeting someone post-run is the perfect way to know you've got at least one thing in common. Plus, while your chances of finding true love may not be great, you can always fall back on a new PR for consolation.
