Stephen Sondheim’s and James Lapine’s cockeyed fairytale comes to life in this adaptation of their groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical. Into the Woods features all of your favorite characters: Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and the Witch in this lyrically rich retelling of classic Brothers Grimm fables. The musical centers on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse, and wind up changed forever. Our two-week Summer Theatre Camps runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with optional early drop-off at 8:00 a.m. and late pickup until 6:00 p.m at no additional charge. Performances happen on the Saturday following the final day of camp (show times TBD). Campers receive daily instruction in acting, music, dance/movement, and theatre games as they rehearse for a final performance under the lights and in costume on the Penfold stage for family and friends. Tuition is $475, with sibling and multi-session discounts available, and all instructional and production costs are included. Lunch and snacks are not provided. Campers should bring a sack lunch, two to three snacks, and a refillable water bottle each day.
